Osteoporosis: New Treatments for Bone Loss
All of us lose bone density as we grow older. It's a progressive disorder. A fact of life. There is no specific age group, gender or ethnicity immune from osteoporosis. We are now aware that certain other diseases and medications used to treat other illnesses may accelerate the rate of bone loss. Until recently, there has been no way to determine the amount of bone loss anyone has experienced, and no way to treat or reverse the damage, once begun. Left untreated, osteoporosis makes itself known by increased risk of fracture, stooping posture and loss of height.
