Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Common Denominator in Aging Men

BPH is a "personal" problem that men hate to discuss. And usually, not until severe urinary symptoms drive them to their doctors, do men learn about Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

But 50% of all men over the age of 50, and almost 90% of all men over the age of 90, will suffer from this non-malignant prostate enlargement, which causes a number of recognizable symptoms.

What are these symptoms? What can doctors do to help men with this near-inescapable malady?

BPH: A Common Denominator in Aging Men answers these and other significant questions in an effort to ease the fears of men facing this condition. You¹ll learn about the current drug and surgical treatments, what¹s new on the therapy horizon, and more importantly, why yearly prostate exams can save your life.

BPH: A Common Denominator in Aging Men is a 30-minute TV special created for FOX¹s The Health Network as part of the award winning The Cutting Edge Medical Report series. The program is co-hosted by Claus G. Roehrborn, M.D. of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and J. Curtis Nickel, M.D. of Queens University, Kingston General Hospital, Ontario.

This special is produced by Information Television Network in association with the American Foundation for Urologic Diseases (AFUD), and is made possible by an educational grant from Pfizer, Inc.
